The CAT-CXA046 board takes the YUV (422/420) data output from the MCUOV5645 sensor, converts and delivers the data as UVC packets. This makes it possible for videos and still images to be received in crystal clear resolution by any USB 3.0 host, running Windows, Linux, or Mac OS.
Our firmware comprehensively supports the USB Video Class (UVC) standard 1.0 and enables users to fully apply all of the MCU-OV5645’s features and capabilities. Our firmware also supports isochronous transfer of bulk data via a custom android app developed by our partner, Infinitegra, Inc. This app allows you to connect to virtually any Android based device.
The MCU-OV5645 utilizes the OV5645 image sensor. Built on OmniVision's 1.4-micron OmniBSI™ pixel architecture, the OV5645 offers high performance 1080p Full HD video at 30 frames per second (FPS), 720p HD video at 60 FPS and 5-megapixel photography. The MCU-OV5645 also offers complete user control over formatting and output data transfer. The sensor's 720p HD video is captured in full field-of-view with 2 x 2 binning, which doubles the sensitivity and improves the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR).
The connection between the Sensor unit and the Interface board is a 20mm flexible PWB with a B to B connector direct soldered. This connection allows for user-friendly assembly and upgrades as new sensors and interfaces become available.
